Entrepreneurialism – Is This the Worst Or the Best of Times?

There’s so much conversation and media opinions regarding the “recession” and the state of the economy. Are things really as bad as your neighbor would have you believe or what you hear on CNN News?

We’ve all heard in the media about:

  • The poor real estate market
  • The large corporations in bancruptcy
  • Jobs being outsourced
  • Recession, recession, recession!

Granted, there are sectors in the financial and job markets that have taken harder hits than others. I would venture to say that no two people you could engage in this discussion would offer the same perspective on the current state of affairs.

So many are quick to point a finger, perhaps at the White House, the CEO’s, Wall Street, the company they work for, the list goes on and on.

What does it all really come down to? Consider this…Self Responsibility. As Rev. Michael Bernard Beckwith says, “It doesn’t matter who’s in the White House, it matters who’s in your house.” You are the one that decides how your life looks.

How do you take self responsibility?

  1. Take a “The Buck Stops Here” approach to life. Instead of blaming others take on ownership of the situation and circumstance.
  2. Be a winner, not a whiner. Nobody want to hear someone whining about their lack of opportunity or fortune. Be the winner and do something about your situation by masterminding with other leaders.
  3. Don’t get stuck in your “story.” Too many people want to stay stuck in their current circumstances instead of creating a new reality.
  4. Walk the walk and not just talk the talk. Actions do speak so much louder, don’t they? Be a person who follows through with what they say they’re going to do.
  5.  Step into your greatness. Why live blaming others? Be the leader!

Every single person in our society is where they are right now because their best thinking and the choices they’ve made have positioned them in the here and now.

The key factor that will determine one’s financial future is not the economy. The key factor is one’s personal philosophy. The economy is not our source. The universe is our source. There are universal laws at work that to a large degree have a direct bearing on how abundant, prosperous and the state of well being that one creates or to the same degree one fails to ever realize.

Even back during the “great” depression when so many thought that things had gotten as bad as they could possibly be, there were more millionaires created during the depression than any other time in United States history. How could this come to be? Because these enlightened entrepreneurs understood these universal laws, success principles, but most importantly they understood self accountability and self responsibility.

So, when some may see these as the worst of times, there will always be those who will tell you these are the best of times.
